French Alps - Chamonix |
|
|
Chamonix, Mont Blanc is considered by many as the best ski region in the World.
With five resorts all within easy reach and a multitude of slopes for all levels, we tend to agree.

Chamonix is not a very conventional resort. You do need to travel between the mountain sections to make the most of of your trip but
with 147km of (long pisted) runs and some of the best mountain views in the world, you'll be glad you did. The skiing tends to be favoured more by intermediates and advanced rather than beginners due to the varied steep terrain, deep snow and excellen off-piste. Many people choose to ski the Vallee Blanche, a guided 20km off piste run from 3840 metres up Mont Blanc down to the bottom! Alternatively, it's worth taking the cable car up just for the amazing views.
Chamonix town centre is one of the largest ski towns in the alps and has all the shops, bars and clubs you could possibly need.
There are many mountain restaurants, but the best is the Panoramic at the top of Le Brevant for it's stunning views over to Mont Blanc.
